The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Condon, Dencklau, Lizer, Motl and Nolting. Absent: None.
Moved by Condon, seconded by Dencklau to approve minutes of May 27, 2008, regular meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to receive and place on file the following Drainage Repairs: D.D.#1, D.D.#26, D.D.#19, D.D.#341, and D.D.#204. Motion carried unanimously.
A Public Hearing was held on the Amendment to County Budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. No written or oral objections being heard, Chairman Lizer closed the public hearing.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Nolting to approve County Budget Amendment and the following department appropriation changes for fiscal year ending June 30 2008: Department 020 – decrease Roadway Capital Projects $800,000 and increase Roads & Transportation $800,000; Department 028 increase $15,000; Department 031 increase $55,000; Department 055 increase $20,000; Department 099 (other capital projects) increase $35,000; Department 051 decrease $15,000; and Department 008 increase $15,000. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Nolting, seconded by Condon to receive and place on file employment changes for Dawn Gehlhausen to the position of Home Health Manager, at the rate of $21.81 per hour, effective June 9, 2008; and Karen Heun, to the position of Staff Nurse, at the rate of $24.14, effective June 9, 2008. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Condon, seconded by Dencklau to approve temporary part-time employment of Deven Gurnett, Conservation Aid at the rate of $7.00 per hour effective June 3, 2008. Motion carried unanimously
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve appointment of Diana Condon to First Deputy of the Tax Department effective June 1, 2008, per recommendation of Jan Horton, County Treasurer. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Nolting to receive and place on file Manure Management Update Plans for M & S Pork in Section 25, Hardin Township and KR Farms in Section 2 Dayton Township. (Copies on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Nolting, seconded by Condon to approve 6-month salary increase for Ryan Weidemann to $43,855.00, effective June 17, 2008, per Engineer’s Office Salary Schedule. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Condon, seconded by Dencklau to approve Amendment #1 to the 2008 Fiscal Year Secondary Road Iowa Department of Transportation Budget. (Copy on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Leo Mallinger addressed the board with his concerns regarding a problem with his drainage following a road improvement several years ago between sections 34 and 35 in Jackson Township. Engineer and supervisors will look into his concerns.

The following public comment on Bryne Justice Assistance Grant for FY2008 was heard: Webster County Sheriff’s office and the Fort Dodge Police Department have qualified to receive $10,053 from said grant which will be split equally between the two entities and used for unbudgeted law enforcement equipment. No further comments, Chairman Lizer closed public comment.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Nolting to approve abatement of un-collectible taxes on Computers, Machinery, Equipment and Buildings on leased land, per recommendations of Webster County Treasurer. (Total amount to abate $1,970.00). (Copy on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Nolting, seconded by Condon to approve and authorize Chair to sign detour agreement with Iowa Department of Transportation for railroad crossing repairs on Highway 175. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Condon, seconded by Dencklau to approve and authorize Chair to sign resolution for temporary road closures of Routes P59 and D18 and designated detour route due to street improvement projects on North 32nd Street by the City of Fort Dodge. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve and authorize Chair to sign resolution for temporary road closure of Taylor Avenue from 330th to 340th Avenues between Sections 31 and 32, Yell Township for culvert repair. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Nolting to approve and authorize Chair to sign resolution for temporary road closure of the portion of Xavier Avenue east of the Boone River Bridge in Section 25, Webster Township due to water over road. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Nolting, seconded by Condon to approve and authorize Chair to sign resolutions for temporary road closure of Dolliver Park Avenue in Section 35, Otho Township due to water over the road inside Dolliver Park. Motion carried unanimously.

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Condon, Dencklau, Lizer, Motl and Nolting. Absent: None.
Public hearing on the Amendment to County Budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was held. No written or oral objection being heard, Chairman Lizer closed the public hearing.
Moved by Condon, seconded by Dencklau to approve amendment to County Budget for fiscal year ending June 30 2008 and approve department appropriation change increase Department 60 (MH/DD) $545,000.00 for fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. Motion carried unanimously.
